Treatment for Children

At our practice you can count on a conservative, valuable approach to early treatment.

While there is no exact age for children to begin orthodontic treatment, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends visiting the orthodontist around age seven.
By this age, most children have a mix of baby teeth and adult teeth, making it easier for the orthodontist to diagnose and correct tooth and jaw problems.
Here are a few things to look for that will help you determine if your child needs to see an orthodontist:
- Early or late loss of baby teeth
- A hard time chewing or biting food
- Mouth breathing
- Finger or thumb sucking
- Crowded, misplaced, or blocked teeth
- Teeth that come together abnormally, or do not come together at all
- Jaws and teeth that are not proportionate to the rest of the face
- Crowded front teeth around age seven or eight
Please contact our practice to schedule an appointment for an orthodontic evaluation. Early treatment now will give your child a healthy, beautiful smile for the future. We want your child to live life smiling!

“We want to thank you for the amazing job you have done on both of our boys’ teeth. Nickolas & Alexander were seen by you guys years apart from each other, with Alex being your recent graduate. Based on technology changes and differences with their needs, the process was quite different for the two of them, but the end result was the same. They both have amazing teeth and you guys were kind along the way and never made us wait long for a single appointment. As we told you guys on our last day, we don’t have any more kids of our own to bring to you, but we will always refer anyone that does need an orthodontics practice to you guys, with high praise. Thank you!!!!”
“We will continually recommend your practice to our PA friends. Thank you for your professionalism and high ethics.”
“What a fabulous experience… Everyone is amazingly knowledgeable and most importantly FUN! I now have the most wonderful smile…& Dr. Hendrix’s attention to detail was truly top notch! I grew up in many dentist & orthodontists offices…and have truly never had such an enjoyable experience. You couldn’t pick a better team!”
“Natalie’s teeth look beautiful! We cannot thank you enough, really. I know that you have told us to “stop” with the gift cards, but it is such a small way to express our gratitude. Your kindness and generosity still humbles us. May the Lord continue to prosper your practice. May He use it to reach the lost and glorify His name. It is evident that this is your heart. Thank you for your faithfulness.”
“If you are looking for an orthodontist in the Exton area, Dr. Leiss is the one for you! I cannot say enough about this office. The office is very clean and has sea life pictures on the wall, which has a very calming affect. In addition, because Dr. Leiss has a mild nature, he always makes my daughter feel very comfortable. From the beginning he not only explains his plan to provide the best outcome but also listens to his patients as well. He has the BEST staff! They are extremely welcoming, very professional and accomodating! What more could you ask for?” Thank you, Leiss Orthodontics!”
